lease signing day

so i signed the lease today – no turning back now.  lol.

while it’s tough to get a real understanding of the unit in it’s raw state (plus you don’t really see size/scale etc..), here are some pics.

front of the building

what do you know, it’s a historic building

looking down into the lobby/atrium from outside my front door

looking across open atrium from outside my front door

one of my most favorite things – the atrium skylight

from the front door/hallway.  looking into living room.  to the right is the kitchen.  to the left is the den & bathroom.  and the room right next to the timber post is the bedroom.

kitchen.  yea, its a bit dated.  but it is completely functional for my lifestyle + i have a dishwasher.  i haven’t had a dishwasher in 8 years.  i’m so excited.

view from kitchen into storage/laundry.  yes! my own laundry.  after all these years.  this makes me exceptionally happy.

living room.  note the kick ass timber ceiling.

bedroom.  where the magic happens.

and right outside the front door to my building is the incredibly kick ass 150 year old st. paul farmers market.  (if you look close, one of the buldings in the background is cb’s place.  i’m not gonna say which one in case he has any new stalkers around – hehehehe)

now i just have to get in there and decorate and paint (yes, cb, i’m painting) and make it home.

fuck ya!

heh, your apt is more or less identical to my old one; I didn’t have the hardwood entry and my laundry closet was about half the size. Nice to see they’ve never bothered to redo the kitchens. Same view, even! is the Black Dog Cafe still there? it was cool that I could pick up the wireless signal from my apt. in there

the farmer’s market rocks, but it’ll be awhile before you see anything besides potatoes and lettuce 🙂

  2. Wow… I love the atrium! They should let you live out there!!!

Excellent place. So the kitchen is a little dated. Aren’t we as well? 🙂

Very cool place! I love the atrium and the skylight.
The wood rafters will work perfectly for your sling.

You’ll have to take some pics once you get all settled in.

Its going to be a good space. I will hate carting all Kyle’s shit up to it, but at least there are elevators!
